Established in 2022, ChinaGeopolitics works closely with China experts, think tanks, and universities across Europe, East Asia, and the United States.

Founder and Senior Researcher

Frans-Paul van der Putten founded ChinaGeopolitics. Trained as a historian, he researches China's role as a modern great power and is an analyst of China-related geopolitical/human rights risks for business. He a former Editor-in-Chief of Itinerario: Journal of Imperial and Global Interactions, and co-founder and a former head of the China Center at the Clingendael Institute.
